WHA

Chris is the longest-standing principal at WHA and is Head of our Travel and Leisure Team. Chris has been in public practice since 1979 and has advised many travel companies of all sizes over the years, in relation to the travel regulation licensing and bonding framework together with travel specific auditing accounting and taxation issues. He has also acted as Corporate Finance Advisor in relation to a number of high profile travel mergers and acquisitions ranging in transaction values of up to £100m.

He advises a diverse selection of travel industry clients from very large organisations (he has advised five FTSE 100 companies in relation to travel regulatory matters) to the small entrepreneur owned and operated travel business. The firm currently has a portfolio of over 200 travel clients.

Chris writes regular columns in the Travel and National press on travel matters and is also a seasoned presenter at travel industry conferences and seminars including the Travel Convention, The ABTA/Law Society annual seminar, The Barclays Forum, The Travel Insurance Industry Conference and The UK Bar Association Annual Conference and provides travel specific up-skilling seminars to larger financial and travel related organisations like Barclays Bank and the CAA.

He has over 35 years of experience in the sector and works for the practice exclusively on travel related matters.

Chris is a keen golfer, struggling to keep his single figure handicap and loves rugby, cricket and Manchester United. Chris proudly captains the currently undefeated WHA cricket team in its annual travel charity cricket match.

Chris was honoured in 2016.
