Trevor Harding

Trevor Harding has had a career spanning more than 50 years, much of it on the publishing side of the travel industry, while also being a prominent figure and fundraiser at major industry awards and events.

Trevor began his career in 1960 as a production assistant in the advertising department of Temple Press. In 1969 he joined Morgan Grampian, now United Newspapers, and became publisher of business-to-business magazines. He joined TTG (Travel Trade Gazette) in 1978 as Publisher, where he was responsible for TTG UK and TTG Europa. In 1989 he left to join Reed Travel Group as Managing Director publishing Travel News and Executive Travel. In 1991 he was involved in changing the name of Travel News to Travel Weekly to form a global brand in Australia, the US, and the Far East. He later took on the extra responsibility of the Holiday Guides and the Travel Directory plus acquiring the Gazetteers in 1993.

In 1995 Reed Travel Group was merged into Reed Business Information and Trevor continued to manage the travel and leisure portfolio. He was instrumental in growing the Travel Weekly Globe Awards and the Northern Ball into the outstanding events they are today. For many years Trevor moderated the Advantage Travel Centres Annual Conference and is well known for being the auctioneer at various travel industry events raising thousands of pounds for charities including the ABTA Benevolent Fund, the Family Holiday Association and Just a Drop. Trevor is past Chairman of the UK Chapter of PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association), past President of CIMTIG (Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group) and is still President of ITT (Institute of Travel & Tourism) a position he has held for over 10 years.

Trevor is currently a non-executive Director of Hills Balfour, and has served on the Boards of Southall Travel, Holiday Taxis and C&M Recruitment since his retirement in 2007.
